Getting started
The first launch asks for the internet
That is expected. Prarthana's texts, festival calendar and audio are not entirely built into the app — the first launch downloads them, about 7.7 MB in total, and takes a few seconds on any connection. After that the app works with wifi switched off, on a plane, or anywhere with no signal at all.
If it stops on the retry screen, the device has no working connection. Connect and tap Retry; nothing is lost.

Any iPhone or iPad, and the Apple Watch companion app.
Using it
Reading in your language
All 30+ texts are available in Hindi, English and Gujarati. Switch language in Settings, and verse-by-verse meanings are included alongside the text.
Festival calendar and reminders
The Festivals tab shows the full 2026–2027 Hindu festival calendar — every major festival plus Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya and monthly vrat dates. Tap a festival for a detail page, and turn on reminders so you are notified in advance. Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device.
Jaap mala on iPhone and Apple Watch
Open the Mala tab and tap to count, with haptic feedback on every bead. Start the count on your Apple Watch and it stays in sync with your iPhone through Apple's own mechanisms — nothing passes through our servers.
Devotional audio
Tap the play icon on any prayer for a high-quality recording. Playback continues in the background and shows lock-screen controls, so you do not need to keep your phone unlocked or the app open.
Daily wisdom widget
Add the Prarthana widget to your Home Screen, or the complication to your Apple Watch face, for a fresh spiritual insight each morning without opening the app.
Changing the look
Settings → Theme switches between five sacred themes — Agni, Tulsi, Surya, Kamal and Moon — and lets you adjust text size from Small to Extra Large.
Storage, privacy and cost
Is there advertising, or anything to buy?
No, and no. There is no advertising SDK in the app, nothing to purchase, no subscription, no account and no way to reach the open web.
What is collected
Anonymous usage counts and crash reports, so we know which prayers get used and when the app breaks. Your settings and mala counts never leave your device. The privacy policy spells out every field.
Something is wrong
Send us the device, the iOS version, the app version and what you were doing — utsavhacker@gmail.com. A screenshot or a short screen recording is worth a paragraph. If a particular prayer or festival date looks wrong, its name is enough for us to find it.
Requests
New prayers, translations and festival data are added by a content update, without a new app version, so a good suggestion can reach your device quickly. Tell us what you would like to see added.
